Hockey Contest: Game of the Week (Sat Feb 13th Philadelphia vs. Montreal)
 

Hello to all my CCW puckhead friends. This is an old favorite contest of mine that I've run over the past several years on other sites I've worked at. This is the 2nd time we've tried it on CCW. Here's how it works.

I will be using the times of the last goals of each of the 3 periods in the Philadelphia vs. Montreal (7pm EST) game next Saturday evening on Hockey Night in Canada, so there will be 3 prizes to give away. Yes, you can win more than once, as long as you have the right seconds. Basically, all you have to do is post below which spot you'd like to have for the contest. The goals scored during the game next Saturday will determine the winners. For this contest, we will open up 12 spots on a first come first serve basis. Just tell me which spot you'd like, and if the last goal of the period falls on your time, you win (see example below) Contest is open to all members of CCW in good standing, but we will give the general members until Monday night to pick their spot, before we fill in the remaining spots by staff. All staff members please do not ask for your spot until Monday evening. I will announce the prizes by tomorrow evening. I will be using hockey inserts, rookies, game used, and autos for prizes this year, so you should get something nice for playing. If you don't collect hockey per se, then at least you'll have some trade bait to trade to others who do. The whole point of doing these is to generate some traffic in the hockey section, so please help out by contributing when you can. :) Each member will get a 5 second time slot. If the last goal of the period is scored with the second you hold, you win.

(eg. If the score is 2-2 after the 1st period, and the last, or 4th goal scored in that period is at 13:56, and you have :56 you win that prize. If no goals are scored in any of the 3 periods, then I will use the time of the last penalty in that period to determine the winner. There will be an extra bonus prize given out if the game should go to, and end in overtime, however no extra prize will apply should it remain tied after OT. Any questions please PM me.

If this goes well, I hope to do this a couple times per month, as long as I have the resourses to hand out prizes. Stay tuned for any new threads. I will be using the times from the yahoo hockey results only, so any discrepencies in the times will resort back to what is posted on yahoo.
